Our Mission
TBT Stress Away Essentials exists to bring real care back to the everyday.
We handcraft body and hair care from just butters, herbs, and oils — nothing you can't pronounce — made for natural, temporary relief, deep moisture, and a daily reset for bodies and minds that carry everybody else.
We make the products we couldn't find on a shelf: honest enough for sensitive skin, strong enough for 12-hour days, and beautiful enough to feel like a gift to yourself. Born in a Detroit girl's salon chair. Made in Texas. Built on one truth we refuse to let go of:
You can be under pressure and still be Too Blessed To Stress.
What We Believe
- Handmade in small batches — every jar passes through the founder's hands.
- Just butters, herbs, and oils — organic first, nothing you don't need.
- Relief and beauty together — it has to work as good as it smells.
- Used by the founder first — if it doesn't work for Lanette, it doesn't ship.
Meet the Founder
I'm Lanette — a Detroit girl, born and raised, now rooted in San Antonio, Texas. And TBT Stress Away Essentials didn't start in a boardroom. It started behind a salon chair.
I was doing hair, giving my clients hot oil treatments, and I started making my own oils because I wanted their time in my chair to feel like an exhale — relaxed in the body, quiet in the mind. Little did I know those oils did so much more. They became a shield against an everyday exhausting day — because life can be stressful enough.
What started as hair oil became body oil. And last year, letting my herbs sit for three-plus months — by accident, if I'm being honest — created something even better: my herbal hair oil, perfected. Most hair oils leave people itchy. Mine doesn't. Most dry the hair out or just sit on top of it. Mine melts right in, with oatmeal and flaxseed grounds that moisturize as they go. I watched my clients' hair change — from dry to nourished, right in front of me.
Then I had to become my own client. Last year, stress and extremely low iron took my hair out — brittle, breaking, thinning. So I did for myself what I'd done for everybody else: my own products, every single day. My hair came back healthy, sleek, and strong — and it's growing back so fast now I can barely keep up with it.
The creams came from my own two feet. I was working 12-hour shifts, coming home with feet that felt like pins and needles and a heaviness I couldn't shake. I created a cream, started rubbing it all over before my shifts and after — and the heaviness lifted.
The soap came because I wanted bars gentle enough for sensitive, eczema-prone skin. Goat's milk, chocolate, oatmeal, and flaxseed made the best soap I've ever used. My melt-and-pour bars are dye-free and doing amazing; my cold-pressed bars I'm still perfecting, and a soap line that matches the oil scents is coming soon.
I'm a mother of four, building what will be the biggest cosmetic line to come out of this — and mourning my mother and my aunt is part of what taught me how to lock in and build it. Citrus Calm, the original scent, smells like lemon drop candy — and it started all of this.
Madame C.J. Walker has been my inspiration since I was a little girl in school. I started doing hair at 10 years old, and I said back then, "I'm going to be the next Madame C.J. Walker." I meant it then. I mean it now.
TBTS means Too Blessed To Stress. Every jar still passes through my hands like it's going to family.
Because it is.
